Partial Stroke Test of Actuators
To achieve Safety Integrity Level (SIL) compliance, it is periodically necessary to stroke test the Actuated Valve, to ensure its availability when required. In almost all cases it is impractical to actually close the Valve, but 15 or 20% closure (Partial Stroke) provides proof.
Ascendant Technologies can facilitate PST functionality using SMART Positioners, PST switchboxes, Panels or mechanical jamming devices according to application or customer preference.
Each option can be incorporated into a complete assembled and tested automation assembly and integrated with all other necessary controls to ensure compatibility.
